John H. McCall, Jr.

Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller
Texas A&M University

 

John McCall is the Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller for Texas A&M University and is responsible for leading and directing accounting and financial services. He has placed particular emphasis on identifying, analyzing, and leading key accounting and financial initiatives, operational controls, and accountability measures. In addition, he has established a vision to be a model for accounting and financial services through continuous process improvement, efficiency initiatives, and a culture of collaborative teamwork and delivering results.

John is a native Texan, a graduate of The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, and holds an MBA from UT Dallas.

 

Verna Fritsche

Associate Controller and Executive Director, University Accounting Services (UAS)
Texas A&M University

 

Verna Fritsche is the Associate Controller and Executive Director for University Accounting Services at Texas A&M University and is responsible for financial reporting, banking, appropriation management, e-commerce, and tax compliance and reporting. 


Verna obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a Certified Public Accountant, CPA.

 

Jennifer Lightfoot

Executive Director, Student Business Services (SBS)
Texas A&M University

 

Jennifer Lightfoot is the Executive Director for Student Business Services at Texas A&M University. She is responsible for leading and directing all student-related business activities for Texas A&M-College Station, Texas A&M Galveston, and Texas A&M Health Science Center, including the assessment of fees, billing, and collection, sponsored billing, waivers/exemptions, refunds, ID cards, loan administration, and annual reporting.

Jennifer's experience in the software and accounting industry has enabled her to evaluate and improve tools used to serve students and parents. She is a member of various higher education advisory councils and a board member of the Bursars of the Association of American Universities. She continues to propel Texas A&M as a leader in automating the Bursar's office.

Jennifer has a B.B.A. in Accounting from Sam Houston State University.

 

Solomon Loche

Executive Director, Departmental Accounting Services (DAS)
Texas A&M University

 

Solomon Loche is the Executive Director of Departmental Accounting Services (DAS) in the Associate Vice President of Finance and Controller’s group. DAS is a unique group due to its ability to partner with other departments to provide innovative accounting-related services at an advantageous rate.
The group’s key attributes are to be communicative, enterprising, and judicious when completing tasks. Solomon’s goal is to become the accounting partner for all departments across campus.
The three major groups are Accounting Operations, Departmental Financial Reporting, and Cost Accounting to include Service Center Rate Reviews and Shared Service Contract Management.


Solomon is from Louisiana and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. Attainments include a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Military Veteran (Combat Engineer), and Texas Real Estate Broker.

 

Clint Merritt

Executive Director, Financial Management Operations (FMO)
Texas A&M University

 

Clint Merritt is the Executive Director of Financial Management Operations in the Division of Finance and Business Services.  He has worked for Texas A&M University for 27 years, all within Financial Management Operations. 


Clint has emphasized high standards of efficiency, integrity, innovation, customer satisfaction, ensuring financial compliance, and accountability for Texas A&M University and its constituents.
